[pregnancy
& weight gain]

break
The
majority of overweight women gain their weight after
puberty. This weight gain is probably precipitated by a
number of events, including pregnancy, oral
contraceptives and menopause.
break
Weight gain during
pregnancy and the effect of pregnancy on subsequent
weight gain are important factors in the weight gain
history of women. Studies have shown that women that do
not have children have a decrease chance of becoming
overweight and have a smaller waist circumference than
multiparous women.
break
There is a healthy level of
weight gain in a normal pregnancy. In general a
pregnant woman should gain about 12 to 15 kg. This
weight can be accomplished by eating a balanced diet
that is composed of low fat protein, favorable
carbohydrates and good fats. This is also a weight gain
that can be reversed after delivery.
break
But remember, you must be
careful and commit yourself to lose the weight after
delivery because pregnancy has an inherent effect on
weight gain and can increase your chances of being
overweight in later life.
