Night Zoo
When: Friday, June 27th Where: Lowry Park Zoo Why: From 5-8:30, enjoy free, unlimited rides. This promotion will also be running Friday, July 4th.
Firefighters Cook-Off & Family Fun Day
When: Saturday, June 28th Where: Fresh Market, North Dale Mabry Highway Why: Come out from 10-2 for the first annual Firefighter’s Cook-Off and sample some yummy BBQ fare. Samples of their food will be available along with a Kids Zone featuring face painting, balloons and games. Proceeds benefit the Hillsborough County Firefighter’s Widow and Children’s Fund.
Speed Racer
When: Showing now, various times Where: MOSI, IMAX Theatre Why: This movie follows the young race car driver Speed on his quest to win the Mach 5 Race. Sure to delight older children who love cars and general excitement.
Baby Bungalow Wee Play Class
When: Mondays Where: Bayshore Baptist Church, MacDill Why: Come out and try a wee-play class (first time is free!) at Bayshore Baptist Church. This class is designed to help little ones and their caregivers interact in playful exercise together. Wee-play is $4 per class or $30 for ten classes. Caregivers with babies that can crawl meet from 10-11 and babies who are not yet able to crawl start at 11:15.
The Backyardigans Live, The Tale of the Mighty Knights
When: July 26th-27th 11am, 2 and 5 Where: Carol Morsani Hall Why: The popular Nick TV show comes to the stage in an adventure to face a dragon and return a prized egg to King Pablo. Tickets can be purchased at: www.tbpac.com
Couple Time
An Artistic Celebration
When: Saturday, July 11th Where: Hyde Park Village Why: Come celebrate the Tampa Artist Emporium’s first birthday with a party that is sure to inspire. Live painting and sculpture demonstrations, complimentary wine bar, food from Timpano, fine art and prize raffle, new artist exhibits and studio portraits from Daniel Goncalves will all be part of this event. Event is from 5-9.
