Barnes & Noble Storytime Events
When: Various times, see schedule below Where: Barnes & Noble, South Dale Mabry Highway Why: Come to Barnes & Noble for some storytelling events your children will love. The Bilingual Story Time and Terrific Tuesday Toddler Story Time are both centered around a special story and both include a craft. The Bilingual Story time includes a story read both in Spanish and English!

When: Friday, June 13th and June 27th Where: Kid City Why: Free with a Kid City admission ticket is story time brought to you by the Hillsborough County Library System. This month’s book theme is Oldies but Goodies—books every child should experience. www.flachildrensmuseum.com
Dinosaurs!
When: Opens June 13th Where: Museum of Science and Industry Why: For those in your life who love dinosaurs, you couldn’t ask for much more than this exhibit premiering June 13th at MOSI. This 5,000 square foot exhibit features 8 huge animatronic dinosaurs and 5 robotic Ice-Age mammals that will spring to life and bring you back 150 million years ago. Tampa Bay Caribbean Carnival
When: Saturday, June 14th and Sunday, June 15th, 12-9:30 Where: St. Petersburg, Vinoy Park Why: The 16th annual Caribbean Festival features a parade, cultural costumes, arts, crafts, dancing, steel drums and music from the islands. This event is free-$10.
Gator Falls Opens
When: Saturday, June 14th Where: Lowry Park Zoo Why: This new log flume ride will thrill older kids. It sports a 30-foot drop over albino alligators! Not for the little ones, but fun for the older kids. Special gift to the first 500 guests to ride.
Father’s Day at the Zoo
When: Saturday, June 14th and Sunday, June 15th Where: Lowry Park Zoo Why: Prepare now for Father’s Day festivities. A good spot for the kids to hang with dad is the zoo. Dads receive free admission with purchase of a child’s ticket! Open from 9:30 am-5pm.
Prepared Child Birth Class
When: June 21st, 9:30 am -5:30 pm Where: St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, Classroom 1 Why: This one day crash course will help prepare couples for the demands of labor. Although relaxation is not covered, a wealth of information for new moms and dads to-be will be covered including: what to expect in the third trimester labor, delivery and postpartum care. Call (813) 870-4747 to register. Cost is $70.
