FREE Fun Friday Playgroup
When: Ongoing, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm Where: Baby Bungalow, South Tampa Why: If you have a child under 4, the Bungalow is the place to be every Friday morning. Their FREE, unstructured playgroup will help with your little ones social and emotional development.
Summer Safari Night
When: Friday, July 25th from 5:00 pm -8:30 pm Where: Lowry Park Zoo Why: The zoo stays open late with FREE rides after 5 pm. Special animal encounters and promotions throughout the zoo. This event is free with ticket purchase and free for members.
Story Time at Kid City
When: Friday, July 25th, 10:00 am and 11:00 am Where: Children’s Museum, Kid City Why: Story time this Friday at Kid City is the perfect way to end the week. Call 813-935-8441 for story details.
Backyardigans Live in Hyde Park
When: Friday, July 25th from 3:00 pm 4:00 pm Where: 720 South Village Circle, Hyde Park Village Why: Come see two characters from the popular Backyardigans series live in Hyde Park this Friday.
The Backyardigans Live, The Tale of the Mighty Knights
When: July 26th-27th 11:00 am, 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm Where: Carol Morsani Hall Why: And speaking of the Backyardigans, they will be on stage in an adventure to face a dragon and return a prized egg to King Pablo. If you haven’t yet secured tickets, go to: www.tbpac.com
Looney Tunes at the Tampa Theatre
When: Sunday, July 27th, 3:00 pm Where: The Tampa Theatre Why: Classic Warner Brothers cartoons will be shown this Sunday at the beautiful & historic Tampa Theatre. A series of 12 original cartoons featuring kid favorites Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester the Cat and more. Eight dollars per person.

When: The rest of summer Where: Box Office, St. Pete Times Forum Why: We love Metropolitan Ministries and all the great work they do in and around the Bay area. Help show your support for this organization by bringing food donations to the box office to help stock their food shelves.

When: Month of July Where: Jan K. Platt Library Why: Wonderful story time programs are available from libraries throughout Hillsborough County. The following times and programs are for Platt Library on Manhattan, but if this is not your local branch, check out www.hcplc.org and find the closest one.

Kid ID Service
When: Friday, August 1st and Friday, August 8th Where: 1st-Friendship Park, Bay to Bay Blvd, 8th-Benito Activity Center, 10065 Cross Creek Blvd. Why: The City of Tampa and the Parks and Recreation Department have joined forces with Feldman Orthodontics and Kid ID to host several data-gathering sessions in case of your child being reported missing. With parental permission, digital photos, electronic fingerprints and other important info. will be taken and stored electronically. A DNA profile kit can also be included for a minimal fee. Please contact Ingri Pagan at Feldman Orthodontics & (813) 326-9771 for questions. Start time for both days is 9:30 am.

When: Saturday, August 9th Where: Museum of Science and Industry Why: From 10:00 am 4:00pm come out to MOSI for a fair designed to prepare you and your child for the coming school year. This event is free to MOSI members and only $10 for non-members. Ticket includes admission to the fair, MOSI, Kids Fun Zone, Kids in Charge, and the exhibit, Dinosaurs.

Hyde Park Village Concert Series
When: Wednesday, July 30th, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Where: Hyde Park Village Why: There are only a few dates left in the summer concert series in Hyde Park. Come out this Wednesday to see Offshore Riot with any proceeds raised going to The Spring of Tampa.
WaZoo at the Zoo
When: Saturday, August 2nd Where: Lowry Park Zoo Why: Noted by The USA Today as “One of the Top 10 Beer Festivals in the Country” WaZoo is a fun way to spend a warm Saturday evening. With international and local beer selections, a beautiful wine garden, food sampling from local restaurants, and live entertainment, the evening promises to be a memorable way to spend time with friends without the kids.
