Baby Bungalow turns 8!
When: Friday, April 11th, 10-12 Where: Baby Bungalow, 3106 West Azeele Street Why: This gem of a parent and child resource is turning 8, and you know that we will be there to help celebrate! Games and face painting and goodies galore. Bring some cash to enter the Baby News Bits $5 raffle—you could win one of 8 amazing prizes including a spa pedicure, tea for tea, hip baby gear and much more! All proceeds to benefit the Bungalow. Party is free, but you must RSVP by April 4th to #356-1293 Ext. 247. And, if you are in the gift giving mood, take a look at the Bungalow’s wish list: poster board and stickers, small smocks, tempera paint and fat crayons, Play-Doh, playground sand, musical instruments, preschool cd’s, bubble solution, dress-up clothes, dot paints and peg boards for toddlers.
Free First Friday
When: Friday, April 4th Where: Kid City, The Children’s Museum of Tampa Why: Come to the museum for free fun with the kiddies. From 5-8 pm.
Clay Activity
When: Saturday, April 5th Where: Michael’s Craft Store, Gandy Blvd. Why: In this month of green awareness, bring your child to Michael’s to create a craft using clay. This clay class will get your little kiddy’s hands busy and also bring about Earth awareness as its focuses on upcoming Earth Day. Craft runs every 30 minutes, from 10-12. $5 to participate.
Little Builders
When: Saturday, April 5th Where: Home Depot, Gandy Blvd. Why: Bring your little builder to Home Depot from 9-12 to participate in a builder’s workshop. Why: A true confidence building activity for both boys and girls. Plus, they get a certificate of completion, a Home Depot apron, and a pin for each project they complete. Come out and help your child build something special for their room. This month’s project is a planter box—perfect for spring!
Top Kid Theatre Choices
When: Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th Where: Ferguson Hall, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center Why: Give the kids a dose of theater with one of these two theater choices next weekend. On Saturday, come watch a comical musical about Harry the Dirty Dog, a dog who hates to take a bath. Based on the beloved children’s book. Show starts at 1:00 and tickets are $6.50. On Sunday, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favorites will premiere. Tickets are $7.50, $9.50 and $11.50. Buy tickets online at www.tbpac.com
Tampa Bay Devil Rays Opening Day
When: Tuesday, April 8th Where: Tropicana Fields Why: A night of baseball and fun for the family with Tampa’s very own Devil Rays. The opening game will start at 7:10 and tickets can be purchased online at www.tampabay.rays.mlb.com Every ticket holder receives a free thermal mug and schedule magnet.
Big Brother/Big Sister Class
When: Wednesday, April 9th Where: Morton Plant Hospital, Women’s Center 2nd Floor Classroom Why: This class for kid’s ages 3-6 can help prepare your little one for the big responsibility of becoming a big brother/big sister. A hands-on class that includes a tour of the birth suites. Bring a baby picture of your youngest and arrive 15 minutes prior to class starting. One parent must attend, but both parents are welcome. Children’s Art Classes
When: Tuesday, April 15th, 4-6 pm Where: Hyde Park Art Center, 705 Swann Ave. Why: This children’s art class will be hosted every Tuesday. The first and third Tuesday of the month will be open from 4-6 pm for ages 6-9 and the 2nd and 4th Tuesday will be open from 4-6 for ages 10-14.
