When: Saturday, May 10th, 10-12 Where: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Driscoll Hall Why: Having trouble finding a sitter? Then this exclusive Baby News Bits event is for you! Come meet over 20 sitters, high school, college and adult, all itching to find their ideal family to work for. Parent registration includes participation in the event, book of babysitter resumes and tips for picking a sitter. A uniquely designed mixer designed to connect you with the sitter you’ve always wanted. Visit our homepage to register for the event. Pops in the Park
When and Where: Various, see schedule below Why: Let me count the ways Baby News Bits loves Pops in the Park…Fresh spring air, picnics, families bonding and amazing music all await you this spring, courtesy of Target and the Florida Orchestra. Their Pops in the Park is a series of outdoor FREE concerts designed to be gobbled up and enjoyed by every member of the family. Great for just mom and dad or bring the kiddies too. Plan to be at one or all of them!

Taste of South Tampa
When: Sunday, April 27th 1-5 Where: Hyde Park Village Why: Now in it’s third year, this annual food fest has attracted over 40 local restaurants to participate. Admission prices range from $20-50 in advance, $25-$55 the day of with children 10 and under free. For the latest info., visit www.oldhydepark.com
TECO Energy Brandon Balloon Classic
When: Sunday, April 27th-Tuesday April 29th Where: Vandenberg Airport Why: Over 50 colorful hot air balloons will fill the sky at the airport in Brandon when balloonists from all over the country come to display beautiful balloons. In addition to the exquisite balloons, this event will feature an Amusement Park Ride area, interactive exhibits and of course, hot air balloon rides.
If You Give A Mouse a Cookie
When: Saturday, April 26th , 1 pm Where: Ferguson Hall, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center Why: Part of the Wee Folk series, this fun musical is based on the beloved children’s book of the same name. Visit www.tbpac.org for ticket information.
MacDill Air Fest
When: Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4th Where: MacDill Airforce Base Why: One of the largest air shows in the country features the U.S. Air Force’s Thunderbirds and the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels plus a parachute team and W.W. II demonstrations.
Disney on Ice
When: Thursday, May 1st-Monday May 4th, various times depending on day Where: St. Pete Times Forum Why: Princesses gather here, which is why your little princess will want to see this show---and why we are telling you about it now. Get your tickets today on www.icepalace.com for Disney on Ice Princess Wishes a show all about making dreams come true.
Arts Sampler
When: July 7th-August 15th Where: Patel Conservatory at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center Why: These performing arts camps put pre-k energy to good use. Designed for 4-5 year olds, this 2 ½ hour a day, week long program channel a child’s natural gifts of drama and imagination. Children listen to stories ad then create their own. They also have fun making simple props, costume pieces, masks, puppets and other things that enhance the storytelling experience. Tuition is $180 a week and you will want to register to now to ensure a child a spot. Go to www.patelconservatory.org
