Florida State Fair

Thursday, February 7th through Monday, February 18th, 9 am daily Where: Florida State Fairgrounds Why: You may need more than just one day to experience all that this fair has to offer: agricultural and livestock activities, competitions, sports history, equestrian center shows and amazing concerts. Admission tickets and armbands are cheapest when purchased in advance (available through Sweetbay Supermarkets) or pay $10 for adults and $6 for children 6-11 at the door (children 5 and under are free). The Science of Candy

Saturday, February 9th, 9:30 am -12:00 pm Where: Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) Why: Gear up for Valentine’s Day with a ‘candy-coated workshop’ designed to put your sweet tooth in overdrive. Daddy Boot Camp

Saturday, February 9th 9:30 am -12:30 pm Where: Oakfield Medical Plaza, Brandon Why: Father’s Resource and Networking Center offers dads parenting support in a unique and effective way. This program utilizes veteran dads and their 1-5 month olds to teach “rookie” fathers, teaching them how to diaper, feed and soothe their newborn babies. Family Theatre---Woodland Tales

Saturday, February 16th, 10 am -12 pm Where: Baby Bungalow, Azeele St. Why: Any event at the Bungalow is guaranteed fun for your little one, but next weekend’s Winter Carnival promises to enchant the adults too. Couple Time
Wild At Heart

When: Thursday, February 14th and Saturday, February 16th, 6 pm - 9 pm Where: The Lowry Park Zoo Why: Singles, couples and groups of friends (21 and over) are invited to the zoo for an entertaining and educational tour which highlights love in the animal kingdom. This tour details the mating, coupling and love relationships of the zoo’s residents. Romantic refreshments will be available throughout the tour, with stops along the way for salads, candlelit dinner and dessert. Cash bar available. Cost is $45 for members, $50 for non-members.
