What’s
Hot for Christmas
Webkinz
The newest craze of hard to get toys is definitely
Webkinz. Already a collectible, similar to the beanie
baby hysteria of the 90’s, Webkinz actually do more
than just sit there and collect dust. Webkinz are
pint-sized stuffed animals that tap into your child’s
computer knowledge---the virtual interaction starts
when you log onto their website and enter the ‘secret
code’ that comes with each pet. From there you have
access to the ‘Webkinz World’ with games, pet
activities, trivia and all sorts of virtual
entertainment. Available at Learning Express Toys in
Hyde Park. For hard to find Webkinz, try E-Bay.

In
the News---Pintsized Interns:
Tokyo Hotel
The Rihga Royal Hotel ran a pint-sized intern program
for a few weeks this summer. Guests, age 3-12, were
eligible to be ‘employed’ for the day by the hotel
choosing between five different types of work with up
to 72 available tasks. Children even got to wear hotel
duds to make them feel official. At the end of the day,
they got to pick their own form of payment---a gift
certificate for ice cream or new books. Now, that’s one
way to keep a three year-old busy while
vacationing.
