Sit. is an innovative mixer designed to connect parents with high school, college and adult sitters. Baby News Bits currently has 20 sitters registered for this event and we recently joined forces with College Nannies and Tutors, a local nanny and babysitting agency that provides screened sitters, so 10 of their top sitters will now be involved too! All of the sitters can’t wait to see if they are the perfect fit for your family. Registration includes participation in the event, babysitter resume book and tips for picking a sitter. Reserve your spot now through our homepage--there is only room for 30 parents! Event is May 10th from 10-12 at Good Shepherd Church’s Driscoll Hall on Dale Mabry Highway. World Against Toys Causing Harm
If there is one thing that parents have learned over the course of the past year, it’s that there needs to be more oversight when it comes to the toys children play with. Enter W.A.T.C.H., a non-profit corporation dedicated to protecting children from harmful toys. W.A.T.C.H. was developed in the 70’s by an advocacy lawyer who investigated toy companies on the behalf of clients and even Congress. This informative website has tabs detailing general toy hazards, ‘report card’ which rates new toys on the market and perhaps the best feature, their picks for the ‘10 Worst Toys’ list (my son had the Diego Rescue Boat---scary!).
