The Oasis Network—A wonderful local organization that focuses on serving needy students in Hillsborough County. They primarily focus on getting students the essentials—coats in winter, socks, shoes, school uniforms, etc. There is a convenient drop off box outside of the YMCA on Himes in South Tampa where you can donate gently used or new items. Give Blood—4.5 American lives are saved each year by blood transfusions. Always a quick and effective way to give back, giving blood once a year could help someone in serious medical need. Visit www.fbsblood.org for more information on blood mobiles and blood centers. There is no replacement for human blood---it may be the most unique gift you ever give.
